How many flags are there?
The game contains 254 flags: countries and territories from all over the world. A default World game plays the 193 UN member states; turn on territories to go up to 254, or pick a continent or a region.
How many rounds, and how long is each?
In FlagGuesser, a game is 15 rounds of 20 seconds by default. You can change the number of rounds, the time per round and the number of tries before you start.
Do I need an account to play?
No! Solo works without an account. To host a multiplayer game, create an account: a code created by a guest can only be joined as a spectator. Joining another player's game works without an account.
What is a flag guesser?
A flag guesser is a game where you see a country's flag and type its name, no multiple choice. On MapGuesser you can play it two ways: FlagGuesser shows one flag per round and scores faster answers higher, while the Flags grid asks you to name every flag of a region before the timer runs out (193 by default, up to 254 with territories). Both work solo or with 2 to 8 players.
Can I play flags 1v1 or 2-player?
Yes, a 1v1 is just a 2-player game: create a game and invite one opponent, or use Quick Play to face another player. Both formats go up to 8 players. In FlagGuesser everyone sees the same flag each round and the fastest correct answer scores most; on the grid everyone gets the same flags and whoever finds the most wins.
How do I guess a flag I don't know?
Look at the colors, patterns and symbols: a cross, a crescent, stars or stripes often point to a region or a family of countries. The more you play the more you recognize them, and the flags you missed are shown at the end of the game.
